A family of restauranteurs with one goal in mind, to help restaurants.

David and Ray Bartolomucci have worked in our fathers’ restaurants since we were 13 years old. From real world experience, we identified one huge problem that has yet to be solved, equipment management. However, fixing this problem requires attention from both the restaurants who use the equipment and the service providers who fix it.

We understand equipment breakdowns can close down a restaurant; it has happened to our father! Along with that, we understand that service providers don’t always get paid in a timely manner. These things shouldn’t happen, and that’s why it’s so crucial for both sides to work together. It’s a two-way street!

My brother and I love these industries too much, and that is why we created Roopairs. To improve the archaic and fragmented process of how restaurants connect and do business with service professionals.

We are a Cal Poly startup comprised of business, graphic design, and software engineers that are dedicated to revolutionizing the restaurant and service industries.

David is a 4th-year Business finance student at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He is a rugby player, commercial real estate agent, and avid traveler. David has grown up in the restaurant industry as his Dad is a restaurant owner in the Bay Area.

RAY BARTOLOMUCCI

CEO and Co-founder

Ray graduated from John Cabot University in Rome, Italy with a degree in Business Administration. Since birth, Ray was exposed to the hospitality industry and worked in his father’s restaurants in the California, Bay Area. During his time at John Cabot University, Ray developed a mobile application for the Italian market in regards to “On-Demand” home repairs.

ALEX KAVANAUGH

CTO

Alex is an experienced software engineer that focuses on designing and developing modern, high quality web applications using Python and Django. Alex is a graduate from Cal Poly with a degree in Software Engineering and has started and worked for multiple startups.

ALIZA ACKERMAN

UI/UX, Branding, Social Media

Aliza is a 4th-year Art and Design student concentrating in graphic design at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has gained experience designing content and managing social media for Cal Poly’s Landscape Architecture Department and for her sorority, Sigma Kappa.

TOMMY JARA

Account Manager

Tommy is a 4th-year Agricultural Business student with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is an ASI ceramics instructor as well as an active member of the on-campus Hatchery which supports student run start-up companies. Through his experience with sales calls as well as account management, his knowledge will be essential to taking this business to the next level.
